The Velvet Warpath: Pact of Exit- excerpt.

His face was unreadable but it made the hair stand up on the back of Bunny’s neck.

“Very dramatic, darling. Dark, mysterious, slightly unnerving…very you.” Bunny turned to face him then, not backing away from the clock or the intimidating closeness.

 “Will you be divulging more in detail about your little…secret time bomb…or will you just be expecting me to gather the Cliff Notes after she falls apart again?” 

He turned his nails to inspect them in a bored fashion as if this was all a waste of his time, but he already had his favorite glittery pen in his other hand and his fingers were itching to reach for his Book of Grudges–the one he kept for her when she couldn’t stand up for herself.

“I like drama as much as the next person,” he paused and raised his eyebrows in a shrug, “…more actually. But surprise acts are not my favorite shade. I prefer my judgments to be served cold.”

Bunny flicked a piece of glitter off his sleeve. It landed unceremoniously on the cuff of Velin’s long dark jacket. Bunny made an ironic pouty face as he studied Velin’s sleeve.

“Oh dear. Watch out for the glitter. It spreads.” He smirked.
